The current economic crisis in Lebanon, which led to the on-going mobilization started on 17 October last year, has been worsened by the event of Covid-19. In such exceptional circumstances, Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) are one of the most affected businesses. In fact, they are often newly established entities and owned or managed by members of vulnerable groups (for example Syrian refugees). In addition, MSEs generally lack financial safety nets and adequate alternative business plans to face and overcome sudden challenges. The actual size of the business, the absence of technical means of support and a very restrictive legislation, worsen MSEs condition of isolation in an already problematic and competitive market.
